I’ve always found science like a good detective novel; intriguing constructs to dissect and problems to gnaw on until it is easier to digest and solve. I am passionate about translating scientific topics outside of academia, to cross the divide between the public and scientists.

I earned my PhD from the University of the Free State (South Africa) in medical virology, researching human papillomavirus and the role it plays in causing cancers of the head and neck region.

Whether it’s through a microscope lens, or through a camera lens, I enjoy exploring the world around me. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives. Reach out if you want to chat about science, travel or food!
